While it may have escaped your travel radar until now, the seaport town of Rijeka, situated on Kvarner Bay in Croatia, has plenty of reasons to make you want to visit and stay. To get acquainted with the city, make your way to the top of Trsat Castle, the 13th-century fortress that overlooks the city and its turquoise beaches. To cool down, take a dip at nearby Sablićevo Beach before spending the afternoon wandering along Korzo promenade, enjoying one of its many bars and restaurants or splurging on some holiday shopping.
If you want to travel directly from Rijeka Airport to Rijeka city centre, the main transport options are a taxi or private transfer, or an airport shuttle bus. The fastest and most convenient options are to take an airport taxi from the taxi stand outside the airport terminal, or to book a private transfer in advance with a trusted company like Welcome Pickups, both of which have a journey time between 22-35 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
