The quickest and most direct way to reach the Republic of San Marino is to take a Rimini Airport taxi. Passengers can choose between a standard 4-seater white sedan taxi or a larger minivan that can seat up to 8 people – although this option might result in longer wait times. How to get from Rimini Airport to San Marino by bus

Traveling by bus to San Marino is by far the cheapest transfer option, although it does require at least one connection and the trip takes 1 hour and 15 minutes – excluding wait times – which is nearly three times as long as a taxi.

If you do wish to travel by bus, you’ll first need to jump on Bus Line 9, run by Start Romagna, which travels between the airport and Rimini Central Station in 25 minutes. From there, catch the bus to San Marino historic center operated by Bonelli Bus which provides services every day of the year and takes around 50 minutes.

How much does the bus cost from Rimini Airport to San Marino?

The initial bus from the airport to Rimini Central Station costs €1.50 per traveler; a single-journey ticket can be purchased from a ticket vending machine at the airport or on board the bus from the driver.

Tickets for the Bonelli bus can also be bought from the driver on the day, although it’s recommended that you book online in advance to secure a seat. A one-way trip costs €6, bringing the total price per traveler to €7.50.

From 05:26/06:30 to 19:50, buses from the airport run every 15 to 25 minutes, and then every 1 to 2 hours. The wait time in between buses from the train station is generally 45 minutes which can stretch to 90 minutes during the middle of the day.

The bus is a great budget option for anyone traveling solo or not under any time constraints. Both bus companies provide a well-organized and professional service, albeit with a much lengthier travel time than a taxi. Keep in mind if you’re traveling with luggage that you’ll still need to carry your bags once you get to San Marino and that if you miss your connection, you risk waiting around for up to 2 hours.
