Two international airports serve the city of Shanghai; Pudong Airport (PVG) and Hongqiao Airport (SHA). Shanghai Pudong Airport is the main airport of the city, serving mostly international flights, whereas Hongqiao Airport often serves domestic travel. Depending on your final destination or connecting flights, you may need to travel between the two airports to complete your journey.
When it comes to travel between Shanghai airports, you have three different options; taxi, bus or the metro. Taking a Shanghai airport taxi is the quickest and easiest way to get from Pudong Airport to Hongqiao Airport, as it takes just 50 minutes and costs around €28 (CNY 200) during the day and €34 (CNY 240) at night (23:00 to 05:00). Taking the bus is another convenient transfer option as the Airport Shuttle Bus Line 1 runs directly from PVG to SHA in just 1 hour and 20 minutes and costs just €4 (CNY 30). The slowest but cheapest way to travel is to take the Metro Line 2. The journey from Shanghai Hongqiao to Pudong Airport will take 1 hour and 35 minutes and will cost as little as €1.50 (CNY 8) one way.
