How to get from Milan Linate Airport to Milan Central railway station by metro

An even more affordable transport option than the shuttle is to take the M4 metro line (the Blue Line). However, since there isn’t a direct train from Milan Linate Airport to Milan Central Station, this also requires the most effort. 

The Blue Line connects Linate Airport with the rest of the city, but to reach Milano Central Station, you will need to change over to another train. First, ride the metro for 20 minutes until you reach San Ambrogio Station, and then transfer to the M2 metro line (the Green Line) towards Cascina Gobba for another 10 minutes.

The journey time for this route is around 30 minutes, not including any time spent waiting or transferring between services.
