Editor’s Note

The queues for a taxi can get quite long during rush hours and peak season. If you'd rather avoid the wait, you can book a private transfer in advance and hop straight into your pre-selected vehicle without any hassle.

Useful Tips

Always make sure your driver switches the meter on at the start of your journey.
If your driver asks you for an upfront payment, this is a red flag. Always pay at the end of your journey to make sure you’re paying the correct amount.
Although many of the drivers are bilingual, it’s always worth having the name of your destination written down to avoid any miscommunication.

Convenience

The buses don’t have separate luggage compartments either, so you’ll need to carry your luggage onboard, which can make it quite a tight squeeze. If you’re travelling with kids or lots of luggage, we recommend taking a taxi or private transfer instead.

Editor’s Note

Alongside single tickets, you can also purchase discounted tickets for longer periods, such as 24 hours and 72 hours. These tickets give you unlimited travel on all ATB buses, the Funicular and the Bergamo Airport Bus during your stay.

Useful Tips

Don't forget to validate your tickets on the bus.
The bus also stops near many of the main hotels in Bergamo, including The Best Western and San Marco, so you shouldn’t have to walk too far to your hotel.
When you’re travelling back to Bergamo Airport, make sure you ask the driver if the bus is stopping at the airport, as not all of them do. Keep an eye out for a picture of a plane on the bus or for the word ‘Aeroporto’ on the front.
