Split down the centre by the mighty Sabarmati River, Ahmedabad is a cultural centre in Gujarat, India. On the river’s western bank, you will find the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, which has many artefacts from Gandhi’s life. On the opposite bank, you can find a converted cloth merchant’s mansion, which is now the Calico Museum of Textiles.
To make the journey from Ahmedabad Airport to the city, you have no public transport option, so you can either take a local taxi or pre-book a transfer for a more personalised journey. It will take around 20 minutes to get from Ahmedabad Airport to the city centre and it will cost approximately €3.50 (INR 300) in a local taxi.
