Getting from Basel Airport to Mulhouse

Public transport is the more complicated route because there are no direct trains or buses. That said, it could be a good option if you’re on a tight budget. 

First, you’ll need to take the 11 bus from Basel Airport to Saint Louis train station. The bus departs every 30 minutes during the day from the French side of the airport. The journey shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes.

Once you reach Saint Louis train station, you can catch the train to Mulhouse. Trains depart every 15 minutes during the day. If you take the fast train towards Strasbourg, you’ll get to Mulhouse in 15 minutes. However, if you take the slow train to Mulhouse, it’ll take 25 minutes. The price is the same, regardless of which train you choose.

The bus from Basel Airport to Saint Louis train station costs €2.50 per person.
The train from Saint Louis to Mulhouse costs €7.40 per person.
Therefore, the combined cost is €9.90 per person.

If you want to travel from Basel Airport to Mulhouse, public transport is the least convenient method. Not only will you have to change from bus to train, but you’ll also have to arrange onward transport to the door of your accommodation. Taking an airport taxi or private transfer is much more straightforward.
