How to get from Granada Airport to Sierra Nevada
Sierra Nevada is located in the mountain ranges near the city and therefore due to the terrain public modes of transport are limited. The area has both a national park and a ski area. There is two options for you to get to the area - one is by taxi, of course providing the best and most direct option and secondly by public bus. If you wish to take a Granada airport taxi, it will be costly (around 67€) and will take around 1 hour and 20 minutes for the journey from the airport. If you wish to take public bus, it will also take around 45 minutes and cost 5€ (9€ return). The ski season heavily affects buses on this route. Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Granada at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.

For the long journey from Granada Airport to Sierra Nevada it is a good option to take a taxi. Not only are they available 24/7, but they provide a direct route to the area of Sierra Nevada and are much more comfortable than public transport. However, taking a taxi does come at a cost as it is a metered journey.
Always check with your driver before taking the journey to Sierra Nevada as there is, during the ski season, a requirement for snow chains. You don't want to get turned around at the checkpoint.
There is no storage available at the ski resort, so if you don't have a hotel to hold your bags you may be stuck with them!
Do not accept ride offers from individual drivers - this is a common way for tourists to get overcharged.
You can ask an approximate cost of the journey before you depart and get a receipt at the end.
How to get from Granada Airport to Sierra Nevada by bus
Unfortunately, public transport to Sierra Nevada is limited - and there is only one bus service that runs the route. The route is serviced by the ALSA bus company. There are 3 buses that run daily, Monday to Friday, and 4 buses that run over the weekend. The bus is direct with no stops to the Ski Resort Bus Park, so it takes around the same time as a taxi. The bus is additionally not available directly from the airport, therefore you will need to catch the airport bus into the city centre, to the bus stop at Granada's main bus terminal (5th stop).
To do this, you will need to catch the line 0245N and should take around 30 minutes to get to the centre of the city in Granada. There are approximately 10 buses a day running from around 5:20am, and the schedules adjust daily to meet with flight arrival times.

Where do I get it from?
The bus is available from Granada Central Station, platform 3.
To get to the station, you will need to take the bus from the Granada Airport to the central station, which is available from the arrivals terminal at the airport.
Although the bus has a similar travel time to a car with a cheaper rate, this is largely due to the fact that it requires you to leave from the central bus station and not the airport of Granada. This extra transit can be a hassle with luggage and can cost you a lot of time. The bus from the airport is adjusted to meet arrival times of flights and as a result can be very busy.
Note that outside of the ski season, travel to Sierra Nevada by bus is extremely limited. Buses will travel once a day, at 9:00am, from Monday to Sunday.
Arrive early to ensure that you can get your tickets in time at the station.
The ski season is in action usually from around the end of November to the end of April.
The bus can be busy in the peak season, it is best to book your tickets in advance.
