The cheapest way to get from Naples to Amalfi Coast would be to take the train. Although, you will first need to make your way from Naples airport to the city centre at Centrale station, either by taxi or by bus, before you can alight the Trenitalia train to Amalfi.

How much is a train ticket from Naples to Amalfi Coast?

In order to get the train from Naples Centrale Station, you will first need to make your way to Naples city centre. To do so, you can either take a taxi which costs €16, or the bus which costs €5.

A one-way train ticket on the Trenitalia costs €4.70. Your total price will depend on the transportation you took to the station.

How to get from Naples airport to Amalfi by bus

The last travel alternative would be to take a combined bus trip from Naples airport to Amalfi, however, that option does take 2 hours 40 minutes, so it’s not ideal if you’re travelling heavy and/or with children.

You will first have to take the Curreri bus from Naples airport to Sorrento train station (1 hour 15 minutes) and take the SITA bus to Amalfi Coast (1 hour 25 minutes).

How much is a bus ticket from Naples airport to Amalfi Coast?

The Curreri bus from Naples airport to Amalfi is reservation-only and a one-way single fare costs €10 per person. You can purchase your ticket online or at the station.
For the next leg of your journey, you can board the SITA bus without a reservation and the price for a one-way ticket costs €2.90 (ticket AC4). You can purchase your ticket at the Sorrento bus station.

You can find the Curreri bus at Naples International Airport’s Parking P1 area. The bus then stops and boards at the Sorrento Bus station, in Piazza de Curtis. Once in Amalfi, you will need to alight at Piazza Flavia Gioia bus station.

Whilst being a budget-friendly travel option from Naples airport to Amalfi Coast, taking the bus can be tedious, especially if you are travelling with kids or heavy luggage. Moreover, having to find your way around a new city’s public transport system, especially when the wait times can be long, is inconvenient.

Going further, if you arrive in the evening, late at night or early in the morning, you will need to find another way to get to Amalfi due to the limited bus-operating hours.
