The Circumvesuviana trains have a different platform with separate ticket barriers to the other trains at Naples Centrale Station. You will need to take the stairs down to the level below the high-speed trains known as Garibaldi Station. Here, you will see the train to Sorrento leaves from Platform 3.

Convenience

The Circumvesuviana train is a commuter train, so it gets hot, crowded and makes many stops. This is the only indirect and least convenient transfer option from Naples airport (NAP) to Sorrento. If you have a little extra room in your budget, we highly recommend taking the bus or a taxi.

Although the Circumvesuviana train leaves from an area called Garibaldi Station, you never actually need to leave Naples Centrale Station to reach it.

There are luggage racks available, but they fill up fast. If this happens, you will need to stand with your luggage in the open areas near the train doors.
