Mumbai Central Railway Station, known locally as MMCT, is on the Western Line and serves local trains as well as long-distance trains to other destinations – mostly in the western, northern, or northwestern areas of India. If you’re landing at Mumbai International Airport (BOM), there are 3 recommended transport options from Mumbai Airport to the Central Railway Station; a local taxi, a private Mumbai Airport transfer, or a combined bus and train journey.
The cheapest option is to take a train from one of the two stations closest to Mumbai Airport. However, this requires first taking a bus from the airport to the train station, which all up, takes around 35 minutes, not including any wait times.
A quick and convenient option is to take a local Mumbai Airport taxi from the airport, which is also relatively cheap, and takes as little as 35 minutes under good traffic conditions. Alternatively, you can book a private transfer in advance and enjoy a seamless ride and door-to-door service with an English-speaking driver.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Mumbai at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
