Unfortunately, there is no direct option when travelling from the airport, you will firstly have to take the free airport shuttle bus (either the FLA 1 bus or the FLA 1W bus) to Fort Lauderdale Airport Station, with a travel time of around 20 minutes and then take a train to MetroRail Station in Miami, which will take 30 minutes. The total travel time will take around 50 minutes (excluding the transfer).

Where do I get it from?

Unfortunately there is no direct train from Fort Lauderdale airport – you will firstly have to take a free airport shuttle bus to the nearest Tri-Rail station, which is located at Dania Beach, a few miles from FLL Airport and then take a connecting train into Miami. To do so, there’s a shuttle bus that departs from the terminals of Fort Lauderdale Airport:

– West end of Terminal 1
– Between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3
– Between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4

Taking a train from FLL International airport to Miami is a comfortable and fast public transport option, if you are ready to first take a bus from the airport and then a train into the centre of Miami.

Unfortunately, when travelling by bus from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, there are no direct bus routes into the city centre. You will firstly have to take the free airport shuttle bus from FLL airport to Fort Lauderdale Airport Station which takes 20 minutes, and then take a second bus, the Broward County Transit 595 EXPRESS, from Airport-Griffin/Tri-Rail Station to SW 1 A/W Flagler station. This last trip takes around 40 minutes bringing the total travel time to Miami from Fort Lauderdale to 1 hour (excluding the transfer).

Taking the bus from Fort Lauderdale FLL International Airport to Miami is your cheapest transfer option, with a one-way ticket on the 595 EXPRESS costing just €3. The first part of the trip from the airport to the Fort Lauderdale Airport Station is on a free airport shuttle bus.
You can buy your ticket directly from your bus driver, however, you can only pay by cash, in dollar bills or coins.
