Mumbai Central Railway Station, known locally as MMCT, is on the Western Line and serves local trains as well as long-distance trains to other destinations – mostly in the western, northern, or north-western areas of India. It is centrally located with access to nearby attractions such as the Gateway of India, and there are many restaurants and food stalls available that serve authentic Indian dishes.
There are two recommended transport options when travelling from Mumbai Airport to Mumbai Central Railway Station; taxi or train. The cheapest option is to take a train from one of the two stations closest to Mumbai Airport which costs just €0.90 (INR 80) per person, but you will first need to take a bus from the airport to the train station which all up, takes around 35 minutes, not including any wait times. A quick and convenient option is to take a local taxi from the airport which is also relatively cheap at around €4.50 (INR 385) for up to 4 passengers and takes as little as 35 minutes under good traffic conditions. Alternatively, you can book a private ride in advance for a smooth collection and door-to-door transfer with a local driver.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Mumbai at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
