Useful Tips

'Cool' cabs are silver and blue pre-paid air-conditioned taxis.
When taking a metered taxi, confirm with your driver before departing that the meter has been reset.
Drivers can provide assistance with your luggage, but you may want to leave a small tip as a token of your appreciation.
Another popular form of transport in India is the auto-rickshaw. These three-wheeled vehicles are basically glorified lawnmowers and offer a much cheaper alternative to standard taxis. If you want to travel like a local, an auto-rickshaw is a great option, but keep in mind that there is very little room inside a rickshaw, so only consider this option if you are traveling with a small amount of luggage and are up for an adventure.
