Located in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria, most people will know Pamporovo for its lively ski scene. With so much natural beauty on its doorstep, there is plenty to see and do all year round. For unbeatable vistas of the surrounding area, climb Snejanka Tower, visit Arapovo Monastery, or for something more adventurous, you can hike through the Rhodope Mountains. Wander around the quaint towns of Pamporovo or nearby Smolyan and enjoy the local cuisine. If you’re a ski bunny, try your hand at snowshoeing or hit up one of the many ski schools to hone your skills.
To get to Pamporovo, you’ll need to take a local taxi or book a private transfer in advance, both of which take between 100 and 120 minutes, depending on traffic. Previously, Arda Tur, ran a limited daily service between Plovdiv and Pamporovo which took 300 minutes, however, this service is currently suspended.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Plovdiv at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
