Tamarindo, a wildlife hotspot, is a small town located in the province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica. You won’t have to venture too far to find leatherback turtle nesting grounds at Playa Grande, or crocodiles, otters, and hundreds of bird species within the mangrove forests of Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge. As the sun sets, enjoy a magical cruise along the coast or get lost amongst the town’s vibrant nightlife while the sky comes alive with the Milky Way and millions of stars all in plain sight.
The main modes of transportation from Liberia Airport to Tamarindo are a private transfer or taxi, or the public bus. Private transfers and taxis are the quickest options, taking just 80 minutes to cover the distance in light traffic. The public bus, on the other hand, is the cheapest option, but the journey time is much longer, taking between 120 and 150 minutes, depending on traffic.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Liberia at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
