Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), named after the former president of Costa Rica, and known as Liberia or Guanacaste Airport, is the second-busiest airport and one of four international gateways into the country. The airport, which sees over a million passengers each year, is located 12 km from the city centre and takes around 16 minutes to reach by taxi.
To reach downtown Liberia in Costa Rica, your airport transfer will begin by exiting the airport parking compound left onto Ruta Nacional Primaria 2. Your driver will continue straight on this road for 10 minutes, before crossing over a highway where the road becomes Avenida 25 de Julio. After continuing straight for a further minute or so, your driver will use the city streets to navigate directly to your destination.
