Currently, there are three departures daily at 12:00, 12:00 and 15:15.

In addition, buses are not direct. You must change at Fira and take a second KTEL bus to Oia. The overall travelling time is 40 minutes, excluding the transfer time at Fira and any potential waits.

The KTEL buses that take you to Fira depart based on ferry arrivals. You will see the bus stop on your left as soon as you disembark the boat.


Buses in Santorini are modern, comfortable and generally reliable. However, the scarcity of itineraries from Athinios Port can make the whole experience quite unpleasant. If you miss the bus upon your arrival or have to wait for the next one in case there isn’t space for you or your luggage in the departing one, waiting for an hour and a half under the scorching Greek sun in the summer is no joke. In these circumstances, you’d be better off taking a taxi or a private transfer.
