Santorini Airport Taxi Cost
Fortunately, taxis on the island of Santorini operate with fixed-rate fares. This means your Santorini Airport taxi price will be locked in based on where you’re travelling to on the island. Official taxis can seat up to 4 passengers, however, since there aren’t enough taxis on the island to meet the demand, especially during the height of summer, it’s not uncommon for passengers to share their ride with strangers, although this doesn’t always reduce the price per person.
During the day the price of a taxi from Santorini Airport to Fira is set at around €30-€35, and you can expect some companies to add a further 20% when travelling at night. The cost of a trip to Kamari and Perissa will be fairly similar, costing between €25 to €35, whereas a ride to Oia will be more expensive at around €45 during the day and €55 at night.
Given the shortage of taxis, why not secure a ride and lock in a competitive fixed fare by pre-booking your Santorini Airport taxi with Welcome Pickups? That way you can you can reach your destination quickly and seamlessly without any of the hassle.

Where is the Santorini Airport taxi stand?
The official Santorini Airport taxi stand is located directly in front of the terminal building, near the Departures Hall. There is only one taxi rank, so when several flights arrive at once, the queue can get a little out of hand causing wait times to become quite lengthy. Official airport taxis can be recognised by the ‘Taxi’ sign on the roof, as well as the driver registration details displayed inside the vehicle.
Due to the lack of available taxis on the island, we recommend that you book your Santorini Airport taxi in advance with Welcome Pickups to ensure a driver is there to greet you on arrival. This way, you can avoid the crowds – and the heat – and enjoy a seamless transfer to your hotel, all for the same price. Keep in mind if you are staying in Fira that not all hotels are accessible by road, so your driver will drop you as close to the entrance as possible.
Useful tips for getting a taxi from Santorini Airport
- Always confirm the price with your driver before beginning your journey to avoid any issues when you arrive at your hotel.
- Taxis are very limited during the peak tourist season and late at night so it's best to book an airport taxi in advance, especially for airport or ferry port pickups, to save time and stress.
- If you’re not comfortable negotiating a price with your driver, ask your hotel for a price estimate so that you know what to expect.
- Only use official taxis from the designated taxi stand at the airport or book through a trusted company like Welcome Pickups, or your hotel.
- Standard taxis in Santorini can typically seat up to four passengers. If you’re travelling in a larger group or with extra luggage, we recommend booking an airport taxi in advance so that you can stick together.
- While some Santorini taxis may accept credit cards, this isn't always guaranteed. Always check with the driver before starting your journey if you plan to pay by card.
- Keep in mind that taxis can rarely drop passengers right at the curb of their hotel in Fira due to the way the town is built so be prepared to carry your suitcase a couple of hundred metres.
- Tipping isn’t necessary in Santorini, but rounding up the fare or leaving a small tip for good service is appreciated.
Getting a Santorini Airport taxi to your hotel
Since public buses from the airport are only provided between the airport and Fira, your transport options are fairly limited if you are staying elsewhere on the island. That being said, buses are spacious and there is plenty of room for luggage, although it isn’t possible to book your seat in advance so you could be subjected to a lengthy wait time, or miss out entirely!
For a reliable transfer to your hotel, we recommend pre-booking an airport taxi with Welcome Pickups so that you don’t need to worry about buying tickets, waiting around or simply not being able to get to where you need to go.
