You have six different transfer options when traveling from Rome Airport to Florence: taxi, Fiumicino Airport transfer, a direct bus, a combination of bus and train, or the choice between two train routes.
The most comfortable and convenient options are to take a Rome Airport taxi or private transfer. The services are quick, readily available, and door-to-door, taking around 2 hours and 50 minutes.
When it comes to cheaper public transport options, there are some direct bus (Flixbus) and train services (Frecciarossa), but they depart only once or twice a day, making them less convenient. If your arrival times don’t coincide with the direct bus and train departures, you can still use public transport.
You can take a regional train to Tiburtina Station first and then hop on a Flixbus service, or you can catch the Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini and then get on a high-speed train to Florence. Generally, traveling via rail is more expensive, but journey times are significantly lower than those of buses.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Rome at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
