The bus leaves from FCO Airport Terminal 3 every 2 hours, stopping at “Rome Ciampino Airport Arrivals Terminal” (35 minutes) and “Caserta Nord Nazionale Appia” (2 hours 37 minutes). The final stop is “Naples (Metropark Centrale),” which is a 4-minute walk from Piazza Garibaldi in the center.

The airport bus stops are located on the Ground Floor outside Terminal 3, close to exit 6. Simply follow the signs out of the building and you’ll see the bus stops up ahead. The Fiumicino Express buses are easily recognizable due to their striking red color.

Not only is taking the bus one of the cheapest transfer options, but if your arrival time coincides with a bus departure, it’s also the best public transport option available. However, waiting times can be particularly long, so if you’re not arriving close to the bus departure time, it may be better to choose another mode of transport.

The buses depart from the Fiumicino Airport 4-6 times a day, dropping passengers at “Naples (Metropark Centrale),” close to Piazza Garibaldi in the city center.

There are only two direct trains from Rome Airport to Naples. The direct Frecciarossa service departs twice daily, taking around 2 hours to reach Naples.

If you don’t arrive in time for the direct service, you’ll need to take a combination of trains to complete your transfer, so your trip could take anywhere from 2-4 hours. The best way is to take the Leonardo Express train to “Roma Termini,” taking just 32 minutes. From there, you can hop on a train to “Napoli Centrale Station.”

There are a few different types of trains running between Termini Station and Napoli Centrale Station: Frecciarossa, Intercity, and the regional service.

The Frecciarossa (TAV) service is considered the most convenient and expensive option. Trains depart every 30-60 minutes and you will arrive at the station in Naples in less than 2 hours. Intercity trains take just over 2 hours for the same journey, and the regional trains have an average trip duration of about 3 hours.

The Rome Fiumicino Airport train station is a 15-minute walk from the main Arrivals Hall. All you have to do is follow the blue transportation signs until you reach the elevators. 

From there, head down to the airport train station and make your way to the correct platform. The Leonardo Express usually departs from platforms 23 or 24, however, it’s best to check the monitors in the station to be sure.

Taking a train from Fiumicino Airport to Naples is not a very convenient option as the route is not direct. Plus, you will need to navigate through Rome Termini, one of Italy’s busiest and largest train stations.
