Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), also more simply known as Colombo Airport, is the main international airport serving Sri Lanka. Although the airport is compact, it sees around 2.5 million passengers through its doors each year. The airport is located approximately 32 km from the city centre, so taking a taxi from Colombo airport to the city will take around 40 minutes.
Once you’re seated comfortably, your driver will head northeast towards Katunayake-Veyangoda Road. Your driver will take a right onto Katunayake-Veyangoda Road, before taking a slight right onto Canada Friendship Road after passing a large Buddha statue. They will then keep right to enter the Katunayake Expressway toll road, which they will follow for around 25 km. Next, your driver will merge onto Baseline Road, and Sri Saddarma Mawatha, to follow the A1. After approximately 1.6 km, you will see Prageeth Motors on your left, and your driver will turn left onto Panchikawatta Road. Your driver will then make two slight lefts to end up on T. B. Jayah Mawatha, before taking the 2nd exit at the upcoming roundabout onto McCallum Road. This will lead you into the heart of Colombo.
