Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), previously known as Portela Airport, is a major European transport hub and the main international gateway to Portugal. Without traffic, your transfer from Lisbon Airport to the city centre shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes, as downtown Lisbon is only 6 km away. Your taxi ride will begin by following Av. Alm. Gago Coutinho all the way to Av. Alm. Reis. From there, your driver will take the smaller local roads to reach your hotel, apartment or other point of interest.

Cost of a Lisbon Airport taxi
Unfortunately, when using the local taxis at Lisbon Airport, there’s no set rate fee for the journey into the city centre. All Lisbon Airport taxis calculate their fares using a taximeter, based on the distance travelled. Your final fee for the trip downtown will be a minimum of €12.50, but your driver may charge you extra for pets (€1.60), waiting time (€14.80 per hour) and luggage items that need to go in the boot of the vehicle (€1.60). Keep in mind that, between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am, increased night fares apply.
