Marrakech Menara Airport is considered the main airport of the Marrakesh province. The shortest route to the city centre is 4.4 km, so your Marrakech airport taxi ride shouldn’t take longer than 12 minutes in light traffic. Once your driver exits the airport compound, he will take Menara Avenue and then turn right onto Prince Moulay Rachid. Reaching the Menara mall, your driver will then turn left onto Mohamed VI Boulevard and head north until he reaches the downtown district of Marrakech. From here, your driver will use the local roads to reach your hotel.

On the other hand, Grand taxis can fit up to 8 people and they have set routes within the city and between cities, much like a minibus. You can also walk to a taxi rank that are located throughout the city, at tourist attractions, at plaza Djemaa el Fna, Bab-Doukala, and the urban centre of Bab-Ghmat.

If you choose to take a Petit taxi, you will be charged using a taximeter based on distance travelled. However, if you choose to take a Grand taxi, you will be charged a set fee for that journey. Please bear in mind that Marrakech taxi drivers tend to try and scam or overcharge tourists, so to avoid this, we recommend booking your Marrakech airport transfer in advance.
In light traffic, taking a taxi from Marrakech airport into the city centre will cost around 4.60€ during the day and 6.90€ during the nighttime hours of 20:00 and 06:00. Having said this, there may be extra costs for heavy luggage, number of passengers and travelling during the holidays.
If you choose to hail a Marrakech taxi in the street, you can expect to pay a base fare of 0.66€ per journey and then 0.18€ per km during the day (06:00 to 20:00) and 0.37€ at night (20:00 to 06:00).
