Why a Casablanca taxi is for you
Casablanca airport not only serves the city centre but also Marrakesh, Rabat and other destinations in Morocco. So trying to navigate its public transport can be extremely tiresome. Negotiating with the local taxi drivers and deciding between a grand or petit taxi can also be confusing and expensive. However, booking your Casablanca airport transfer with Welcome Pickups makes this effortless. The price is agreed upon in advance, so there’s absolutely no hidden charges or surprises. All that you need to do is relax and enjoy your journey into Casablanca with Welcome.
While you’re in the city centre of Casablanca, you can very easily find a taxi. One thing to take note of is that there are two different types of Casablanca taxis to choose from, petit and grand. Grand taxis operate like a bus, with set fares and set routes, only leaving when full. Petit taxis use a taximeter and charge you based on the distance travelled. You can hail a petit taxi from the street by looking for a red car with the ‘TAXI’ sign on top, or walk to a taxi line. There aren’t any official Casablanca taxi ranks in the city, but petit taxis do tend to gather around the main hotels and tourist attractions, Casa Voyageurs train station, Boulevard Rouhani and the bus station.
Fare of a Casablanca airport taxi
Average Casablanca taxi price in city – 6€
Although the petit Casablanca taxis are uniform in colour, not all of them are official and fully licensed. Having said this, the licensed taxis have a regulated charging system based on a taximeter. If you’d prefer a set-rate fee for your transfers, we suggest booking your Casablanca airport taxi in advance.
Under normal conditions, a Casablanca airport transfer into the city will cost around 23€ (250 MAD) during the day 25.66€ (300 MAD) after 8:00 pm. However, unless you book your Casablanca airport taxi in advance, there can be hidden charges for things such as excess luggage, vehicle type and number of passengers.
While you’re in the city centre of Casablanca, the base fare for your journey should be 1.41€ and a cost per kilometre of 0.68€. If you leave your Casablanca taxi driver waiting for an hour, there will also be an extra charge of 4€.

Casablanca Taxi Tips
- Normally, Casablanca taxi drivers don't carry change for large notes, so be sure to keep small change with you when taking a taxi.
- It’s rare for the drivers to speak fluent English, so we recommend writing your destination’s address down and showing it to your driver.
- Casablanca taxis don’t have baby seats, but you can bring and fit your own for free.
- Petit taxis don’t accept credit card payments, you will need to pay your fare in cash.
- If you feel like your driver is taking the wrong route, you can check your journey on GoogleMaps.
- Tipping your Casablanca taxi driver isn't always expected but it is always appreciated. If your journey was enjoyable, you can round up to the nearest 5 dirhams or add on 10%.
- If anything goes wrong during your journey, be sure to write down the taxi number and ask for a receipt.
- Make sure the taximeter is set to the base fare of 1.41€ before you begin your journey.
