Reliable and convenient Quito Airport transfers

Quito Airport in Ecuador is one of the busiest airports in Latin America, serving millions of travellers all year long. After a long flight, the last thing you need is to wait in line for the next bus; instead, you can opt for local taxi or, even better, a personalised and reliable private transfer with Welcome Pickups to enhance your travel experience. As soon as you land, a professional, English-speaking driver will be there to greet you warmly and take you directly to your destination.

If that sounds like the type of experience you want to have, take a couple of minutes while planning your journey to book your Welcome Quito Airport taxi in advance; that way, your transfer will be pre-paid, helping you stay on budget and saving you the trouble of worrying about currency and cash payments. Before your arrival, you’ll receive an email with your driver’s photo and contact information, so you’ll know exactly who will be waiting for you at the airport. Even if your flight is delayed, your driver will be monitoring any last-minute changes, adjust the pickup time accordingly, and wait for you in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name on it.

After you meet with your Welcome driver, they will help you with your luggage, if you wish, and they’ll guide you to your private vehicle. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride to your hotel or apartment. Don’t forget, you’ll be with a local before you’ve even reached the city; this is your chance to ask for any local tips on the local culture, cuisine or hidden, lesser-known spots!

Quito Airport transfer fares

Quito Airport taxis are required by law to use a taximeter to calculate the total fare for each ride. The average price for a standard taxi for up to 4 passengers from Quito Airport to the city centre is about $25 (€23). As a tourist, you might come across unofficial drivers who will try to negotiate the trip’s price instead; it’s best to avoid taking such rides and just choose a taxi from the official taxi rank at the airport. In any case, you can pre-book your fixed-fare ride with Welcome to avoid the hassle and have peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions

Do Quito Airport taxis offer set fares to different destinations?

In general, Quito Airport taxis are required to use a taximeter for the whole journey and the price is calculated per kilometre plus the base fare. It is common for the driver to try to negotiate the price but keep in mind that an airport taxi from Quito Airport to the city centre costs on average $25 (€23).

Where will I find my Welcome driver?

Your Welcome driver will be waiting at the arrivals hall of the terminal your flight arrives, right after baggage claim. You’ll have received an email with your driver’s photo and they’ll be holding a sign with your name on it so it should be easy to spot them once you reach the exit.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Your Welcome Pickups transfer isn’t affected if your flight is delayed; a driver will be there to pick you up at the new arrival time. All you need to do is fill in your flight number during the booking process so that your driver can monitor any time changes before your arrival. You might receive an email notifying you that a new driver will operate your transfer; that simply means that the originally assigned driver was unavailable at the new arrival time, so we found another Welcome driver who was available to pick you up.
