The airport expanded in 2003, and can now handle an impressive 4 million passengers a year. The distance from the airport to the city centre is 10 km, so taking a Cagliari airport taxi to downtown shouldn’t take longer than 12 minutes.
After your driver has exited the airport compound, they will head southwest on Via dei Trasvolatori toward Partenze. After around 140 m, your driver will take a left onto Arrivi, and follow this road until it becomes Via dei Trasvolatori. Here, you will reach a roundabout, where your driver will take the 2nd exit onto Via dei Trasvolatori. After around 1 km, your driver will take a left onto SS131dir, and will begin to follow signs for Cagliari Centro. After around 3.6 km, this road will merge into Asse Mediano di Scorrimento, where your driver will then take the exit towards Viale Ciusa/Via dei Valenzani. Finally, your driver will merge onto Via Monte Claro and then take a right onto Via Francesco Ciusa, which will lead you into the city centre of Cagliari.
