Krakow Airport taxi price
Official Krakow Airport taxis offer a set rate fee for the journey into the city centre, based on different zones. This means your final Krakow Airport taxi cost will be determined by the distance you travel from the airport, inclusive of luggage, tolls and surcharges. For instance, a ride from Krakow Airport to the city centre at any time of day will cost between €22 and €27 (PLN 89 – 109) or a little further to the Oskar Schindler Factory will cost €32 (PLN 129). If you plan on taking a longer trip to destinations like Zakopane, the price should be agreed upon upfront with your driver, although it shouldn’t cost more than €208 (PLN 900).

Where to get a Krakow Airport taxi?
The Krakow Airport taxi stand is conveniently located undercover next to the Arrivals Hall exit – you can’t miss it. Taxis are generally blue or silver sedans with the Krakow Airport Taxi logo on the side of the vehicle and a ‘Taxi’ light on top. During the day, you should have no problem jumping into a cab, however, in the evening it isn’t always so easy.
Transport options, including taxis, become limited after 21:30, so if you plan on being at the airport later than this, we recommend booking a private transfer with Welcome Pickups. In any case, being met on arrival by a friendly English-speaking driver and being shown straight to your private vehicle is a treat no matter what time you arrive!
Useful tips for getting a taxi from Krakow Airport
- Standard Krakow Airport taxis do not calculate fares using a taximeter, instead, they offer fares based on which zone you are travelling to.
- Ask you driver for a price estimate for beginning your journey so that there are no surprises on arrival.
- Always ask for a receipt at the end of your journey in case you leave anything behind or need to make a complaint.
- Confirm with the driver if they accept payment by card before the journey starts. It's also good practice to carry some cash in smaller notes in case they don’t have change.
- Tipping isn’t necessary in Krakow, but you can always round up the fare if you feel the service was especially good.
- The only official taxi service at Krakow Airport is Krakow Airport Taxi. You should avoid accepting rides from anyone who approaches you in the airport as they are likely an unofficial taxi.
- Taxi drivers in Krakow may only speak a little English so it is helpful to have your address written out in Polish, or book your airport taxi with Welcome Pickups instead to be met with an English-speaking driver on arrival.
- Consider booking an airport taxi with Welcome Pickups in advance, especially during rush hours or peak travel times. This guarantees you a ride and can save time.
A Krakow Airport taxi to your hotel
While Krakow Airport is well-connected to the city and surrounding areas with several bus and train lines, starting your trip sitting around waiting or lugging your baggage on crowded transport is not ideal, especially when you don’t speak the language.
When you book a door-to-door taxi from Krakow Airport, you can be sure that the trip to your hotel will be quick and seamless. Plus, you can enjoy added privacy, ample luggage space, and a comfortable ride into Krakow.
