How to get from Mykonos Airport with a Taxi Transfer

Mykonos International Airport (JMK) is the only airport on the island offering domestic and international flights and is conveniently located just 4km away from the town of Mykonos. The most used route from Mykonos airport shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. After your pickup, your driver will simply need to turn right onto Eparxiaki Odo Mykonou after exiting the airport compound. After a few kilometres, you will enter the Mitropoleos Avenue which is the main street running through the centre of Mykonos town. From here, your driver will take the local roads to reach your hotel.

Why choose a Mykonos Taxi?

Although there are only 34 taxis in Mykonos, this is by far the most convenient and time-saving Mykonos airport transfer option. At $29€, a Mykonos taxi isn’t the cheapest transfer option, but you will be cutting out the need to wait around in the heat for the infrequent bus service. Instead, you can sit back and relax in your private, air-conditioned vehicle and make your way to your hotel in comfort.

Once on the island, it’s extremely easy to find a Mykonos taxi at the central point of each village, at the Port, in the central square of Mykonos town next to the statue of Manto Mavrogenous or outside Fabrica station. Having said that, you can also easily hail down a taxi from the street by waving your arm at an empty vehicle.

What’s the fare for a Mykonos Airport Taxi?

Average Mykonos taxi price in town – 10€

Taxis in Mykonos have a controlled charging system based on a taximeter. If you wish to have a set rate for your journey, you will need to book your transfer in advance, otherwise, your journey will be calculated based on distance travelled or time taken.

Under normal circumstances, the trip from Mykonos airport to the town centre will cost approximately 29€ in the day and 35€ at night (during the hours of 24:00 and 5:00). However, factors such as excess luggage, the number of people traveling and the vehicle type can affect the price.

If you choose to take a Mykonos taxi from the street, the base fare is 1.14€ and the price per km is 0.65€ from 5:00 to 24:00 (Tarif 1) and 1.14€ from 24:00 to 5:00 (Tarif 2). Be aware that the minimum charge for any taxi in Mykonos is 3.27€.
