London Airport taxi price
The local drivers at Heathrow Airport don’t offer a set-rate fee for the journey into the city centre of London. Instead, they calculate your London Airport taxi cost by using a taximeter based on the time and distance travelled to your destination. Traditional black taxis are very spacious and can seat up to 5 passengers, with plenty of room for luggage. London minicabs can also be taken from the airport, however, these are privately owned and need to be booked in advance and as such, incur an additional €5.90 (£5) charge when picking up passengers.
Taxi prices to the most popular areas of London are generally in the same ballpark. For example, the average cost from Heathrow Airport to the city centre is around €76.50 (£65), however, travelling at night, on weekends and on public holidays can increase the fare up to €135.40 (£115). If you’re staying in Soho or Paddington, expect a ride during the day to cost around €86 (£73) and slightly more for Waterloo. Note that an extra charge of €2.40 (£2) will be added to journeys that leave from Heathrow Airport taxi ranks.
