Houston Airport Taxi Rates
If you’re planning to take a taxi from Houston Airport, you’ll be pleased to know that several companies offer flat rates to downtown Houston for $55 to $60 (€50 to €55). If your destination is outside of the downtown core, the base fare will be calculated with a taximeter. The base fare in Houston is $2.75 (€2.50) and the per-kilometer fee is $1.20 (€1.10).
It’s worth noting that both flat and metered rates will be higher if you have extra passengers or luggage. A van cab for 6 passengers will cost closer to $65–$75 (€59–€68). Since tipping is customary in Texas, remember that you should be adding around 15% of the fee to the final payment for the driver. Between the hours of 20:00 and 0:600, some drivers will add a nighttime fee of $1.00–$2.00 (approximately €0.91–€1.82) to the fare.
To spare the guessing and ensure a competitive fixed fare with no hidden fees, you can always pre-book your Houston Airport taxi with Welcome Pickups.

How to take a taxi from Houston Airport
Taxis at IAH are available from the Arrivals level of several terminals. We’ll give you the specifics for each below, but if you have any trouble finding the appropriate door for your terminal, you can always consult one of the Transportation Agents on duty throughout the airport!
Each taxi rank is located on the south side of the terminals. Terminal A’s rank is through Door A-115, Terminal B’s is through Door B-103, Terminal C’s is C-105, and Terminal E is E-103 B. Always follow the signs that say “Ground Transportation” after exiting Baggage Claim.
