New Anchialos National Airport (VOL), or Volos airport as it is unofficially named, is the main airport serving the city of Volos. Operating since 1993, this airport offers domestic, international and charter flights. Located in New Anchialos, the distance between the airport and the city centre is 27 km which by taxi will take around 30 minutes, under normal traffic conditions. As your airport taxi ride begins, your driver will head west to PATHE highway and turn right as soon as he reaches it. After about 5 km, he will make a right turn onto the national road Karditsa-Volos E030 and follow until he enters the city. Finally, turning right to Sekeri street, he will continue until the roundabout, where he will take the exit to Grigoriou Lambraki street. Using the local roads, your driver will then take you to your hotel.
