Travel safely with Welcome Pickups
Net Safety Score
We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.
20 minute gap between transfers
Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.
Regular Car Sanitisation
Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol
When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.
Sanitiser in every car
We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Getting to Havana City Centre with your Havana Airport Transfer
Havana International Airport is located approximately 16 kilometres south of the city centre. Getting there by taxi is a 25-minute drive and it’s easy to track the route on your mobile. Once you leave the airport parking, your driver will make a slight right. After about 6 kilometres, you’ll reach a roundabout and your driver will take the 2nd exit. They will then take the exit onto Autop. Este-Oeste and after about 2 kilometres, take the exit and turn left toward Av. San Francisco/Route 400. Then, they’ll keep right to continue toward Av. San Francisco/Route 400 and merge onto Av. San Francisco/Route 400. As you approach the city centre, your driver will drive to Carr. Central de Cuba, then turn left, and after about 3 kilometres make a slight right onto Calz. de Vento. Depending on your exact drop-off location, your driver will continue onto Carr. Central de Cuba and follow local roads to reach your accommodation.
Why Choose a Welcome Havana Airport Taxi

Instead, Welcome Pickups can help you plan a smooth, stress-free trip before you even leave the airport by pre-booking your personalised Havana airport transfer. Your Welcome ride will be pre-paid, saving you the trouble of carrying cash whilst you also get a flexible cancellation policy in case your travel plans change. Another thing you won’t have to worry about is rushing through customs and baggage claim; your Welcome booking includes 60 minutes of free waiting time, ensuring you have plenty of time to reach the exit and meet your driver. With Welcome Pickups, you don’t get only an airport transfer but also peace of mind, whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure.
Fare for a Taxi from Havana Airport
Official taxis at Havana Airport are metered and operate at regulated rates. It’s important to only use one of the official taxi companies that operate at the airport, as it’s common for unlicensed drivers to try and overcharge tourists. The official taxi service is pretty reliable and you can get to the city centre at a reasonable price. For up to 4 passengers, a standard taxi should cost approximately $30 (600 CUP). It’s best to carry cash and a variety of larger and smaller notes so that the driver can easily provide change. If you prefer a stress-free travel experience where you don’t have to worry about currency exchange and cash, you can always pre-book your Havana airport transfer with Welcome Pickups.
