Cost of an Alicante Taxi

The cost of an Alicante Taxi is determined by the local town hall and are heavily regulated. Usually, Alicante taxi drivers will use a taximeter based on distance to calculate your fare, but sometimes they will give you a set-cost for some of the more popular routes. Each taxi driver must adhere to the guidelines set each term and show an official “price booklet” when offering set-rat fares.

Base Fare (includes first 2km) – €4

Price per km day (07:00 – 21:00) – €1.06

Price per km night (21:00 to 07:00) – €1.22

It’s worth keeping in mind that there may be additional fees for things such as airport pickups, keeping your driver waiting for an hour (€19.18 in the day and €23.00 at night) and carrying large of heavy luggage.

How to get a taxi in Alicante

Taking a taxi in Alicante couldn’t be easier. You can choose to flag one down in the street, call a local radio taxi company, walk to a taxi rank, or even have the bar or restaurant that you’re at call one for you.
