Krakow taxi prices

Each Krakow taxi company sets their own pricing and tariffs. However, all official Krakow taxi drivers should have a meter fixed in their vehicle and there is a government-set maximum for all taxi-metered journeys.  Licensed taxis must show their pricing on the rear window of the vehicle, so be sure to check for this before entering the taxi. The exact taxi in Krakow prices will depend on your destination, the company you travel with and the level of traffic, but the approximate tariff will be calculated as follows:

Base fare: €1.52 (PLN 6)

Price per km day (06:00 – 22:00): €0.50 (PLN 2)

Price per km night (22:00 – 06:00): €0.75 (PLN 3)

The exception to this rule is if you are travelling from Krakow Airport. Journeys from the airport have a fixed fare based on zones. The average fixed cost for a journey into the city centre from Krakow Airport will be €22 (PLN 95).

Extra Charges:

Keeping your driver waiting for an hour will incur an extra charge of €8 (PLN 35). Calling a radio dispatch taxi in Krakow will have a service charge of around €2 (PLN 8). There may also be additional charges for travelling during holidays, extra passengers over 4 and bringing small pets into the taxi.

How to get a taxi in Krakow

As there are so many different Krakow taxi companies operating throughout the city, getting a taxi is usually extremely easy. You can hail a taxi in Krakow if you’re in the centre, call a radio taxi company, use one of the taxi apps, pre-book your rides with a private company or walk to a taxi rank. The Krakow taxi ranks are usually found outside the main shopping areas, large squares, popular tourist attractions, on the rooftop of the train station parking lot and at the airport.

How to get a taxi from Krakow Airport

The Krakow Airport taxi stand is conveniently located just outside of the Arrivals Hall exit, under a large cover. Krakow Airport taxis are blue or silver sedans with the Krakow Airport Taxi logo on the side of the vehicle and a large ‘TAXI’ light on top. Taxis are available 24 hours a day from the rank, but after 21:30, the number of taxis becomes more limited.

Taxis from Krakow Airport don’t use a taximeter, they offer fixed prices based on zones. You can see the full price list inside the airport and the back window of each taxi.

How to get a taxi from Krakow Main Train Station

The taxi rank at Krakow Main Train Station is located on the upper level. To reach the rank, you will need to take the stairs or elevator up from the platform level to the upper deck. Here you will see the local taxis waiting to transport you around the city. All taxis at the train station are metered, so their Krakow taxi rates will depend on your destination in the city.
