Taxis in Bodrum
Located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, the easiest way to get around the Turkish city of Bodrum and the stunning surrounding region is by using a Bodrum taxi. A typical yellow taxi in Bodrum is air-conditioned, seats 4 passengers, and has a “Taksi” rooftop sign.
With taxis operating throughout the city 24/7, passengers can either hail a taxi down from the street, walk to a nearby taxi stand, phone one directly, or book one via an app. Once inside, you’ll be charged a metered fare rate based on how far you’re traveling. Taxis in Turkey are required by law to take you to your destination without questioning the distance so you can choose to take a taxi just 50 meters down the road so long as you pay the minimum fare.

Bodrum Taxi Rates
On the whole, Bodrum taxi prices are reasonably inexpensive, especially compared to other European countries. However, since taxis in Bodrum use a taximeter to calculate their fares, you won’t know the cost of your journey until you arrive at your destination.
Fares are based on the time and distance traveled, and while you’ll pay the same rate whether you’re traveling during the day, at night, or on weekends and holidays, you will need to cover any road tolls you pass along the way. The current rates are:
Base Fare: €0.80 (TRY 30)
Rate per km: €0.53 (TRY 20)
Wait time per hour: €6.30 (TRY 235)
Minimum fare for any ride: €2.40 (TRY 90)
Note that for long-distance and inter-city journeys it’s common for a set price to be in place or negotiated, although you can still choose to use the meter.

How to get a taxi in Bodrum
Bodrum is a small town so you can generally walk anywhere in about half an hour. However, if you’re traveling with children, the elderly, or simply don’t want to walk around in the Turkish heat, a Bodrum taxi service is very easy to find. There are many taxis around the streets and they are all too happy to stop (even in the middle of the road if need be) to pick you up after being hailed – if, of course, they are available (look for the lit-up roof sign).
Alternatively, if you feel more comfortable going to a taxi station, they can be found all over the city, in particular at transport stations, shopping malls, and tourist sites. Taxis are registered in groups that station themselves at taxi stands called “Taksi Duragi”. These are hut-like structures and often even have a small seated area inside. They are usually covered in “Taksi” signage so you can’t miss them.
How to get a taxi from Bodrum Airport
At Bodrum Airport, there is a dedicated taxi stand located in front of both Terminals 1 and 2 next to the Arrivals Hall exit. As is the case outside of the airport, Bodrum Airport taxis are metered, so you simply need to join the queue and take the first available taxi. As a guide, for the 36-kilometer journey from Bodrum Airport to the city center, you can expect to pay around €26 (TL 950).
How to get a taxi from Bodrum Cruise Port
If you’ve just stepped off a boat from Greece or a nearby Turkish town, you’ll find the taxi stand conveniently located right outside the Passenger Terminal. It’s a fairly short ride into town so you may need to pay the minimum fare rate.
How to get a taxi from Bodrum Bus Terminal (Bodrum Otogar)
After arriving at Bodrum’s intercity bus terminal you’ll have no issue finding a cab. There are several clearly signposted and managed taxi stands along Hasan Reşat Öncü Caddesi, the street in front of the terminal.
How to get a taxi from Bodrum New Bus Station (Yeni/Torga)
The new bus station is quite fancy compared to Otogar and is very well laid out for tourists. There is a dedicated taxi stand, however, due to the size of the terminal, be sure to follow the signs so that you don’t exit on the wrong side of the terminal.
How to get a taxi from Bodrum Castle
The impressive Bodrum castle is situated right on the marina, an area with lots of pedestrian walking zones and one-way streets. This can make it difficult to find a taxi parked up, however, the main street of Neyzen Tevfik Caddesi is just a short walk away where it is easy to flag one down.
Best Taxi App in Bodrum
If you’re traveling at night or during the winter when temperatures can get rather low, you can use a Bodrum taxi app to secure a ride. The most popular taxi app is BiTaksi, which works like a ride-hailing service with transparent pricing and tracking, but with regular taxis. Uber can also be used, however, it isn’t as popular and also connects passengers to regular taxi services.
If you prefer to arrange your ride in advance, particularly for trips to and from the airport, a Bodrum Airport transfer with Welcome Pickups is a reliable alternative. This service offers fixed pricing with an English-speaking driver and guaranteed on-time pickups for extra reassurance.

Booking your Bodrum Taxi in Advance
Knowing that your Bodrum taxi will be waiting for you at a set time, in a set location, and for a fixed price is the kind of holiday we all want to experience, especially if you’re someone who likes to budget and plan in advance. Moreover, Bodrum fills up in the summer months, and flagging a taxi from the street can become tricky, which in turn means a lot of tourists flock to public buses which then become crowded.
