How to get a Taxi in Brisbane
Getting a taxi in Brisbane is easy as there are taxi ranks placed around the city, at major hubs, such as the train station, metro station, big hotels and at prime tourist areas. Moreover, if you prefer to pre-book your Brisbane taxi, two main taxi companies operate around the city; ‘Yellow Cabs’ and ‘Black and White’ cabs; to book a taxi in advance, you can either call one of the companies or book a vehicle via their website. Keep in mind that by choosing this option, you will be subjected to a booking fee of €0.90 ($1.50 AUD). Lastly, the universal way to get a taxi is by hailing a passing vehicle directly from the streets, by holding your hand up in the air.
Nevertheless, if you prefer travelling at a fixed rate fare with a local driver at no extra costs, you can always pre-book your Brisbane transfer with Welcome Pickups, and avoid any hidden fees. In this case, your Brisbane transfer driver will be waiting for you at the exact location you indicated during the booking process.
Book your Brisbane Taxi Transfer in Advance
Arriving in Brisbane and having to find your way around can be overwhelming, especially if you are new to the city. Knowing that your taxi is waiting for you at a set time, in a set location, and at a fixed price, with no hidden fees is comforting. Going further, looking for a taxi rank within the city, or having to wait in line for a cab whilst wasting precious holiday time is frustrating.
That is why it is highly recommended to book a Brisbane private transfer in advance. Not only will you be avoiding surcharges, high fees, and long waits, you will have a friendly and highly trained driver waiting for you at the location of your choice if you book your Brisbane transfer with Welcome Pickups.

- Brisbane taxi drivers do not expect a tip for their services, although it is common courtesy to let the taxi driver “keep the change”.
- As mentioned previously, Brisbane taxi fares are metered; it is important that your taxi driver resets their taximeter and that it is turned on before starting your journey.
