Travel safely with Welcome Pickups
Net Safety Score
We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.
20 minute gap between transfers
Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.
Regular Car Sanitisation
Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol
When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.
Sanitiser in every car
We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Chongqing Taxi Fares
All Chongqing taxi drivers must have an officially calibrated taximeter fitted in their vehicle, which they will use to calculate your fare. There is a time and distance element that will determine the total cost of your journey using the following tariffs:
Base fare (inc first 3 km): €1.40 (CNY 10)
Price per km: €0.30 (CNY 2)
Price per 5 min waiting: €0.15 (CNY 1)
It’s worth noting that at night (23:00 to 06:00), the price per km increases to €0.35 (CNY 2.30). Chongqing taxi drivers also implement an automatic low-speed fare which is €0.15 (CNY 1) for every km covered at speeds less than 12km/h.

How to get a Taxi in Chongqing
Taxis in Chongqing are very easy to spot as they are all yellow in colour and have a large ‘TAXI’ sign on the roof. You can easily get a Chongqing taxi by hailing one in the street or by walking to one of the designated taxi ranks. The taxi ranks can be found all over the Central Business District, outside major hotels, shopping malls, tourist attractions, railway and bus stations and the airport.
If you’re not in the city centre or are travelling during bad weather and don’t want to stand in the street waiting for a taxi to pass, you can call a dispatch taxi company on the 24-hour hotline, +86 239 6096.

Wheelchair Accessible Taxi in Chongqing
Regrettably, China as a whole isn’t a very wheelchair-accessible-friendly country, and Chongqing is no exception. There’s no dedicated wheelchair-accessible Chongqing taxi service and the regular taxis don’t have equipped vehicles either. If you need a fully wheelchair-accessible taxi in Chongqing, you will need to book through an independent tour company before arriving or renting a large car.
Chongqing Taxi Safety and Complaints
Taking a taxi in Chongqing is usually a safe and pleasant experience. The only thing you may want to look out for is your driver not starting the taximeter or your driver taking a long route than needed. You can always ask them to turn the taximeter on if they forget and track the route on a GPS app. If you do experience any issues, you can make an official complaint by calling the local taxi hotline on +86 0239 6096. Be sure to note your driver’s ID number, the taxi number and any details about your journey before calling.
